Meet Jessica, the marketing exec turning AI curiosity into a career glow-up

When Jessica Tillery found herself between roles, she quickly got to building. Her latest project? A marketing budget dashboard powered by AI that’s as functional as it is gorgeous. Think: clean design, real-time results, and no more accidental spreadsheet implosions.

Jessica Tillery’s AI-Powered Marketing Budget App

Here’s our convo with Jessica, in her own words:

1. Tell us about your app. What does it do, and what inspired you to build it?

The app is a comprehensive marketing budget and results dashboard designed to show both a high-level snapshot and detailed spread of spend vs results throughout the year. It covers annual estimated budget, campaign spend/results, ROAS measurement, recurring MarTech and agency spend, etc.

I'm currently in between roles and want to sharpen my AI skills. I feel that budget tracking spreadsheets and tabs have always been messy and full of formulas that can throw off an entire spreadsheet with one click. I designed this dashboard to capture the full budget landscape, be visually pleasing, and very easy to update.

2. How did you choose the right tools to bring your idea to life?

I actually used AI to decide. I started by building the prompt in Claude (my go-to for prompts). The prompt was pretty high-level but included an ask to recommend 3-4 AI tools that would be best for building out the app. It recommended a number of tools with a how/why. I ultimately decided to use Google's AI Studio given its track record with coding.

3. What advice would you give to other women who are curious about AI but don’t know where to start?

You don't have to know a thing to start. By simply starting, you will learn so much. AI is here to make our lives easier - to analyze data, provide suggestions when it comes to hopping on trends, and to even suggest what movie to watch on a Sunday night. Start small, then build. We're all learning together.

4. Anything else you’d love our readers to know about you or your journey?

I’m a brand marketing executive who builds category leaders in the consumer space and a storyteller at heart, but my passion is designing beautiful spaces. I love helping brands find their voice just as much as I love helping people find their home design style. This is a reminder that you can be multi-dimensional.
